Monday night the ever so wonderful NetFlix delivered a movie I’ve been dying to see, Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension. I had read a little about this movie and it sounded like something straight up my alley. Phenomenal, is there really anything the Doctor can not do? In related news Saturday had the end of this season of Doctor [...] This Sunday marks the 2 1/2 hour series finale of Lost. Back in season 1 and 2, so long ago, I had built a strong apprehension to a network television show that was all about twist and turns and unanswered questions. After I learned that they had a story in mind, with a defined ending, [...] The Doctor and Amy meet project "Iron Sides" Saturday afternoon brought the returns of the Daleks to face off against the new Doctor. For those of you who are uninitiated, the Daleks are conceptually the oldest enemy of the Doctor, they appeared in the serial The Daleks in Doctor Who’s first series way back in [...] It has been a busy last couple of days! First off I would like to bring up a most excellent beer the Beer Demigods at Brix suggested. The Weyerbacher Simcoe Double IPA; full of flavor and taste, it never over powers you with the hops, goes down in a very refreshing way and [...] Megan had told me about this wonderful pilot for a television series called Heat Vision and Jack. Once I had found it, I knew what brilliance was. AV Club has a great article up containing clips of the pilot. Read the article, find the pilot on the internet, be entertained. The Eleventh Hour was the newest episode of the ever so classic television series Doctor Who. In this episode we were introduced to the newest Doctor, his new companion and a new TARDIS. In all honesty I was kind of expecting this to be a ho-hum episode, as the End of Time felt [...] If you are not excited for the new Doctor Who season that starts relatively soon, then uh, ok. So I recently finished Handling the Undead by John Ajvide Lindqvist; author of Let the Right One In. If are not familiar with Lindqvist work he tends to take traditional horror subjects and places them into a personal setting. My reaction to this style has been one of personal interest into the characters [...] Moon was released on Blu Ray today. This is a great example of where a science fiction idea is turned into something that questions the nature of reality and existence. I won’t spoil the twist for those of you who haven’t seen it, with that I implore you to seek this movie out. [...] |
